You have a curiously interesting game here, but the controls are a little confusing

PatAle responds:

Thank you! Are there alternate buttons you would prefer, or is it the whole control system that is confusing?

Great Scott, what an adorable game you have there! I reeeeeally love how the music blends in so smoothly with the graphics - and the mesh between graphic styles? That's awesome! Also, the wits made me chuckle here and there! Not to mention the creative spin you gave there, blending gambling and RPG - I really can't remember playing anything like that before - and here's a guy who plays PC games since the 80s.

(well, gambling and RPG are some of my favorite genres, so my review's maybe a little biased heh. I just wish there were more casino games there besides poker. Bc I suck at poker. The half star missing there's because there arent' more gambling choices)

That said, the only issue I had so far was with performance while playing it under Firefox - the game chewed up like, 1.5gb RAM here (quadcore 3.4gb Linux Mint, RADEON card)! So I did a blind test and gave it a spin under Midori (a really lightweight browser) and it's got 100mb at its peak. Firefox is a longtime known RAM cruncher, so after killing the session and restarting the browser it's been around 500mb so far (but rising). Maybe it has something to do with how Firefox deals with code chunks and ram allocation? I really don't know, programming isn't really my turf.

All in all, seriously, I'd totes buy a final version of this game. I mean it pal. It would be worth the purchase!

(but add more gambling games there pleeeeease ;)

DAIRYDOG responds:

I'm glad you enjoyed the game. Thank you so much!

As you say, Chrome and Edge browsers are much better at WebGL games than Firefox. There's also a download version available in the description which should run better across the board.

What are your favorite gambling games that you'd like to see?

That's just awesome!! So much to praise. I'm saving it for playing more later, then I'll give it a full review!

RojhonBB responds:

Thank you for playing haha😊♥️

Is it just me, or the screen is too dark to play? I just can't see where I'm going

TheBlindEye responds:

Hello, thank you for your feedback. I really don't know why it won't play on low end pcs( i see a black screen too). You can download it from the itch.io page and play it without any problems, or you can use Firefox, and the game will play.
Have a nice day :D

How come it passed the judgement?

TURBOSALT responds:

it's just that cutting edge.

That song... is that Dwarf Fortress I hear?

Darkmoonfire responds:

The music is free music I got from incompetech.com, so it's certainly possible that you've heard before. I wouldn't know if it's in Dwarf Fortress or not.

Great concept

boticelly responds:

I'm glad you've liked it!

Nice! But after resetting a level, the character promptly starts running instead of waiting for the click input

Catalystl responds:

Thanks for the feedback. I wanted to avoid having to start the level over and over again when resetting, and you can still read the text when you die, since I placed the text boxes in spots where the fail text won't overlap it.

Also you can't interact with the environment on the prompt to start the level if that was your complaint, you can only do so once Josh starts moving. The game isn't a puzzle, it just has light puzzle elements.

I enjoyed both art, music, and concept!

madmediawiz responds:

thanks for feedback! Glad you enjoyed it.
